With Halloween less than a week away, I thought I could share with you all this easy DIY costume. And if you’re like me, who leaves everything up to the last minute, then this definitely is ย for you haha ๐
A lot of the items that I used for this costume, I actually previously owned . However, I really wanted to give it a vintage vibe so I decided to go antique shopping for my black gown. Chicago has a lot of antique stores but one of my favorites is Antique and Resale Shoppe. The shop mainly consists of vintage costume jewelry but also has a small collection of vintage clothes and cute novelties. I fell in love with this black lace gown the moment I saw it. (It is believed, that this gown wasย made during the 1930’s- HOLY COW!) So if you’re ever in the mood to travel back in time, and also in Chicago, I suggest making a trip there.
Founded by Erin Leary in Chicago, BeBuddhaJewelryย is a jewelry shop that not only hand makes each piece but also promotes inner peace within their jewelry. To be more specific, every stone that is used has a valuable meaning. The stones that were used for my earrings were freshwater pearls and a pyrite. Freshwater pearls are known for self acceptance and purity while the pyrite is known for money and good luck. Did I mention that you can also request a custom piece? Check out the rest of the collection by clicking here and request your own “outer piece for inner peace.”
If you don’t have a mask, or don’t feel like wearing one, you can definitely rock a smudged smokey eye look like I did as well. I personally would do with and without a mask ๐
